Vanilla Crème Brûlée Recipe

INGREDIENTS

2 bottles (2 x 237 mL) Vanilla Glucerna®

3 eggs

45 mL (3 tbsp) granulated sugar

2.5 mL (½ tsp) vanilla extract

25 mL (5 tsp) granulated sugar

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 150°C (300°F).

2. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until pale.

3. Add the Glucerna® and vanilla extract and blend together gently with a rubber spatula.

4. Transfer the mixture into 5 ramekins and place the ramekins in a baking dish.

5. Fill the baking dish with water midway up the ramekins.

6. Put the baking dish in the oven and bake for 40-55 minutes, until the cream still wiggles somewhat in the centre.

7. Remove the ramekins from the baking dish and put in the refrigerator until the cream has cooled completely.

8. When serving, sprinkle 5 mL (1 tsp) of sugar on top of each ramekin. Place under the broiler or burn the sugar with a blow torch until it has caramelized or is golden brown.
