Heart-healthy Meal Plan

Breakfast

250 mL (1 cup) mixed frozen fruits

250 mL (1 cup) plain, low-fat yogurt

5 mL (1 tsp) honey

15 mL (1 tbsp) chia seeds

Snack

1 Glucerna® nutritional drink

Lunch

250 mL (1 cup) turkey + bean chili

50 g (⅓) avocado
500 mL (2 cups) mixed green salad
15 mL (1 tbsp) olive oil
15 mL (1 tbsp) lime juice

12 baked tortilla chips

Snack

125 mL (½ cup) cherry tomatoes

125 mL (½ cup) cucumber slices

125 mL (½ cup) baby carrots

30 mL (2 tbsp) low-fat ranch dip

Supper

90-120 g (3-4 oz) lemon-grilled tuna steak

250 mL (1 cup) roasted sweet potato with chickpeas, pomegranate seeds, and arugula

1 pear
